We wanted to give you the opportunity to discover what infrastructure is included in the Urban ICT Arena testbed, how to access it, and what collaboration opportunities with infrastructure owners are possible.
During the event, the infrastructure providers each got a 5-minute slot to present their infrastructure. The purpose was to help listeners see the big picture and decide which infrastructure they want to learn more about.
Speakers of the day:
Björn Lindblom – CyanConnode
Gemma Vall-Llosera – Ericsson
Helena Samsioe – Globhe
Kristoffer Wedebrant – Cisco
Claus Popp Larsen – RISE ICT
Brian McGuigan – Silverspring networks
Åke Sundin – St Erik Kom
Anders Broberg – Stokab
Theo Kanter – SU
Tore Björklund – Teliacompany
In the second step, each infrastructure owner got their own corner where participants were able to ask questions and discuss in more detail with those representing the infrastructure.
Here is what, Anders Gavler, Head of the Urban ICT Arena IT Infrastructure Committee had to say about the event:
“The purpose was to clarify for future projects and collaborators what the various pieces of infrastructure are and exemplify how they can be used, but also to put a face to infrastructure owners to enable easier dialogue about potential use and cooperation. I think we achieved this and we got to do it in the nice relaxed environment that THINGS offers.”
Petra Dalunde, Chief Operating Officer at Urban ICT Arena added:
“I think there are continuing challenges in communicating the possibilities with the complex environment Urban ICT Arena offers. For example, I think we will need to organize more targeted workshops that focus on the use of one or maybe a combination of two pieces of infrastructure. I also think that the Urban ICT Arena website can be better to enable more clearly communicated messages about what pieces of infrastructure are available, what they can be used for, and how to access them. And that work is in progress!”
