From big data to smart data

This short film explains why cities and municipalities should agree on the same IoT plaform and data formats (kind of like smart phones and their apps) to be able to share data and services with each other. This film explains this very pedagocially and is a result of a research project with funding from the Strategic innovation program IoT Sweden. The film is launched together with a new project: City as a Platform – CaaP.

The film – just like the project CaaP – is based on the insight that regardless of size, the municipalities in Sweden have equal challenges around data management and it would be of great value if Swedish cities and municipalities cooperated around data and IoT platforms. 10 municipalities participate in the City as a Platform project. Through shared pilot projects based on a minimum viable framework of a data platform, issues, challenges and solutions are addressed jointly. One of the objectives of the project is that it should be easy to move services between the cities.
