The city of the future is often described as smart and sustainable. Together with Dana Borschewski from Invest Ottawa, Claus Popp Larsen, Head of Urban Life at RISE ICT, and Christina Öhman, Director of Business Development at RISE, we will talk about what kind of tools we need to make cities smart and sustainable. And, in addition, how to foster an ecosystem that encourages innovation.

Dana Borschewski, Market Director, EU at Invest Ottawa
Dana Borschewski will discuss the technology ecosystem in Ottawa, Canada and how Invest Ottawa can help companies leverage the city as their gateway to North America. Dana will also talk about some of the similarities between Kista Science City and Ottawa’s Kanata Research Park, and our common history in telecom.

The Interactive Institute is an experimental research institute that achieves innovative results by combining art, design and technology. By exploring and integrating these three areas, the interactive institute strives to achieve innovative results that develop and question the interaction and communication between people and their environment, but also after challenging traditional perspectives and thinking.

Claus Popp Larsen will talk about the Internet of Things, digitialization and the horizontalization of cities: How is the hidden benefit of data released and how will it affect the city and the city’s suppliers.
Urban Life at RISE ICT is all about using ICT research and ICT implementations to benefit citizens, the environment and businesses. And to contribute to the emergence of sustainable, smart cities.
RISE ICT Urban Life are experts in the introduction and application of sustainable ICT-based infrastructure for smart homes, buildings, cities and communities. They develop concepts based on open platforms, open data and access to digital infrastructure, in which the development of business and collaboration models and privacy and security are equally important elements.
