We asked Anders Huge at Intel Sweden about our new partnership and their operations.
What’s your reasoning for becoming partner?
We like the fact that there is less talk and more action. Urban ICT Arena is interesting because it is a mix of small, innovative enterprises and large, curious companies. We wish to conduct tech evaluations and acceleration projects where Urban ICT Arena acts as a catalyst.
What’s Intel’s operations in Sweden?
At Intel in Sweden, we are working with large portions of the IT sector, which includes manufacturers of computers, servers and IT infrastructure. Our customers also include retailers and the line of system integration and software companies.
The organisation Intel Sweden consists of approximately 100 employees – including software engineers, business developers and tech experts. We often describe ourselves as a “light version” of the large Intel!
How can Intel help create more sustainable cities?
We have a strong focus on sustainability throughout our supply chain, and we also expect our technology to create smarter services that streamline transport and reduce the need to travel.
Your office and 5G innovation center is located in the heart of Kista Science City. What’s the best part of being located in Kista?
We are happy to be in Kista, we moved here in 1999 and have no plans to leave. It is convenient to have walking distance to many partners. Also, the infrastructure is good, and it is easy to get here both by public transport and bicycle.
