Background
Hexatronic Cables & Interconnect systems has been working with fiber optic systems for 3G and 4G systems for many years. The focus for the majority of today’s fiber deployment is fiber to the home (FTTH). Many techniques and methods developed for FTTH over the past decade will be utilized for fiber networks for future wireless networks.
However, the future infrastructure builders and system suppliers will set special requirements with respect to robustness and interfaces different from FTTH. As the leading supplier of systems for passive fiber optic networks, Hexatronic plans to develop generic network solutions for the next generation of wireless networks, with a focus on 5G.
Objectives within Urban ICT Arena
In collaboration with multiple partners, Hexatronic Cables & Interconnect Systems will develop a technical solution for the fiber connection of WLAN, 5G and future wireless technologies as well as other applications involving surveillance and sensor monitoring. These developments will proceed in stages in line with the systems, which are developed by Ericsson and others.
